Ellie, Brady & The Weekend.

1. The concept of 'the weekend' has changed dramatically in my world since becoming a 9-5 drone.

I joined the '9-5' club about a month ago. The Weekend has become a thing of beauty, of escape, of inevitable consumption of alcohol since that time and has altered my weekly ideology of 'lecture, food, tequila...' from the last three years.

The Weekend used to be a drinking bonus, with a bit of football thrown in to boot.

Now - it means everything. I've found myself ringing round friends as early as Tuesday to find out what everyone has planned for Friday, Saturday
and even Sunday nights.

This will be my life between now and the time I retire. Though I'll probably consume less and less alcohol as the years pass and gain more and more responsibilities.

This is nothing new. This is life. The sooner I come to terms with this, the better.

2. Ellie Goulding.... and your cover of 'The Cave' by Mumford & Sons.

Before I heard this, I thought anything recorded by M&S would be untouchable. Like recording a cover of something by Prince, Michael Jackson, Shanks & Bigfoot, Phats & Small.... blah blah blah.

But when I heard this, it just firmed up my choice of female artist of the last year. Ellie Goulding. Love you. Cracking voice/talent.

3. Someone which springs to mind (who also tries a 'dangerous, risky' cover versions of songs) is Thomas Brady.... who blew me away with his latest cover.

Yes, it's Prince's 'Could you be (the most beautiful girl in the world?)'

If you haven't already, go check out his stuff. I feel like Jo Whiley when I say that. But trust me, It's ace. Great on't'strings.

Now, I have nothing relevant to finish off this entry... so here's a picture of what I first found when I typed in 'relevant picture' into Google;

Ta' ra for a bit.
