Being a Graduate & Irish(ish)

Killarney, Co. Kerry. Ireland.

Is where I tend to be in the next year. Just for a month, to see the place I've heard so much about from Grandparents and whatnot. To experience it for myself.

It basically sounds like a scene from The Lord of the Rings. Beautiful.

Made up of tiny villages... which can only mean one thing - PUBS.

and plenty of them.

My 'grandads lot' originally came from this small suburb in Ireland so I apologise if this seems very 'Who do you think you are?' but I gotta go there!

I've been to Dublin twice before and loved it both times... so I don't really need much of an excuse to go back.

In other news - I've just ordered my tickets/gown/other unnecessary items for my graduation ceremony in November. £20.00 - cost of ticket for ME... the graduate.

£20.00 - the price to attend your own graduation ceremony. Rip.off.

£40.00 - to hire the gown you must wear to sit and accept your degree.

= £60.00 to attend in total.

Ooooh but i'm excited. Yes i am.

Alcohol should be involved at some stage which can't be bad.

Oh and just nipping back to the whole Killarney thing.... I also hate it when people claim to be Irish.... just because their great great uncle's grandfather once found a cat who's mother was born in Belfast.

I'm not saying i'm Irish. I'm saying that i'm Irish - ish.

fin.
